Potty Trained !!

SUCCESS!! feels like third day of potty training and we went diaperless for the entire day with zero accidents. So very proud of you my little girl.
The first two days we made her wear a diaper when she took her afternoon nap and also during her evening playtime but decided to leave her in panty  for the whole day today and she did great.
I give a lot of credit of Mahi's success to my mom and DAD for making it so much more fun.  I am so appreciative of my MOM for being so on board with all of it and taking it so seriously.
This adorable potty which sings a victory song every time she does something in it was quite motivating on its own.

The key to three day potty training seems to be, being available, consistent, patient and firm. Not that she didn't have her meltdown moments but we tried to divert attention and get her to be on that potty no matter what. Look how genuine this cry face looks!!

And just like that everything comes back to normal. It's just in that moment that you have to put up your best front forward because these tides seem to calm down pretty quickly.

What I am in love with this book is that they have shown the the same potty reward chart in the story what they provided and it makes it so easy to help her relate to how the baby in the book and her are going through the same phase.

Always excited to put her stars!!

With every four stars she won herself a prize and she emptied the basket pretty soon.
One of the prizes was a potty set with which she is having so much fun. Looks like she is already ready to train her doll.  She goes" Open your panty, sit on the potty and flush". This was the most apt thing I could have found and though it was a find from a couple of months back I knew it would come handy on this day...

One of her fave cartoon characters is the Daniel tiger. It's a great cartoon show and very educative. I try to put episodes of what I am wanting her to learn and we found an episode of where Daniel goes to the potty (https://youtu.be/fzJarhYxWXw). They sing song to explain what they are trying to teach and this one goes " If you have to go potty ...STOP!! go right away.. flush and wash and be on your way!!" She is watching that at least  once a day and it might have worked well with her subconscious I guess.

We had our troubles and we had our FUN, the best thing is that potty training is DONE!! at least I can say she is "Awake time" trained. This process really showed me how smart Mahi is. She caught onto the whole concept so quickly for a kid so young and it's been an opportunity for us to feel like we know her so much better. So proud of my big girl!!
