Bits & Pieces

We were invited to an Exhibition from Mahi’s school on Friday. The school sent us the most adorable invite and we went with nothing more to expect than a couple of paintings done by the little pre-schoolers.

When we reached there both me and my husband were taken aback by the display. It was so artistic and so meticulously done. I loved the fact how the educators made so much effort in making the  the kids explore so many different materials, techniques, tools and also the culture.

Being working parents you can never be there to regularly give a pat on your kid's back for making or creating something, neither you can see what they are doing in school, but this exhibition was such a great platform to see all the little art pieces that your child made through the months.

As we walked along, Mahi stood next to her creations and when asked to explain , she went on like a pro.

Creativity with the Nuts and bolts

Loved the idea where they had  the pictures of the Kids, playing next to all the displays on the Ipads  from when they were creating what was displayed.

Clay Birds Nest

We got a good explanation for this one from Mahi.. how thoughtfully she had one bowl for the food , one for the water and third for the toys  for the baby birds ..

My Personal favourite

Inspired by Moana the Movie, Mahi created this beautiful work of clay where she made the Boat, used the feather as the sail and the big Giant Maui. I loved the detailing as she has not missed to put a basket of fruits in the boat just for if the sail goes longer than expected.

Some more pictures from the beautiful evening ...

Mommies and Daddies went Awing all the way as they explored each and every corner which was set up as per the themes, material, and techniques.

It was just done so beautifully and was just pure Joy...

All about Turning 4

Your birthday my Beanie Boo is absolutely the most important day of the year for Mommy and Daddy. It is prepared for, like no less than a wedding. This year we had planned a Troll birthday for you but with having to move houses around the same time we took on PLAN B.

We thought to theme it around your present ,most favorite character and we did not have to look too far. Moana movie, Moana songs and Moana dialogues you kind of know by heart. It's your all-time favorite these days. The choice was easy and we finalized to go with the Island princess and the Demi God.

Last year we celebrated your birthday in school but you did not enjoy it much because you had no liking for that place, but this year you have made some very good friends and was too excited to have your birthday celebrated with your best friends. We decided to go with a different theme for the School birthday and I love the Unicorn theme that you suggested.

Now the real challenge…. I had two weeks to have it all organised. I went to a couple of stores to look for a nice Moana Costume but did not like any so I decided to take the risk and Order it from EBay. I wanted all the main three elements of Moana, the dress, the hair and the necklace which I ended up buying from three different vendors but  pleaded them to meet the delivery dates.
Parallel to that Mommy Daddy and Nanu Nana were busy finding the perfect presents for you. Mommy and Nana spent hours in the mall ,over two weekends, while Nanu took care of you at home and finally got the gifts ready. Daddy held on to the secret until your Birthday and it was just so awesome.
The one thing we never have to worry in Canberra is the cake as we have this beautiful Baker friend who bakes the most gorgeous Cakes ever https://www.facebook.com/NVACake/ . Her profile picture on the Facebook  page is still the Circus cake from Mahi’s third birthday.  After the Cake, the birthday dress and the Moana costume was ordered I stopped to take a breath.

This year we had chosen a fun Kids venue for the Party and booked it as soon as we knew of the house move. Although, I was really sad to miss out on all the DIYs and giving the personal touches to party , it actually turned out to be the best decision ever and saved us so much time, considering how crazy the month of September was for us.

Finally came the day we all wait for most eagerly, morning was fun and after you had your breakfast daddy revealed his beautiful present and you went screaming out of excitement in all the rooms “ Daddy got me a Trampoline”  “Daddy got me a Trampoline”.

We then got ready and went to your school. Unfortunately we could not click any pictures of you with the kids due to the privacy issues, but we did manage to get a few with all of us in it. Daddy joined us from work but had to run back for the meetings lined up.

You are one lucky girl because Nanu and Nana always plan their stay in a way they could be there for your birthday and spoil you with so many presents. I did not have my grandparents around when I was growing up because they had younger grand-kids to be with, but I really feel so happy to see the kind of bond you have with all your four grandparents. Touch wood!

On our way back from the School celebration, we decided to take a halt and seal the day with a few clicks of the Big four year old. Oh! The pride on her face with which she calls herself a four year old is adorable.

All her attention was after flying away the helium balloons ...

But when I requested to give me one nice click before she could fly them off ,she goes...

Angry! because she now really wanted to release the bunch of balloons..

Here goes our first one in the air !!

Look how happy can a balloon make her... and here goes the second!

We had the Kids party the very next day and reached the Venue only to realize we were running late. It was no hassle once you are in there and everything is taken care of leaving you to enjoy the party.

Mahi with her Besties from school and home!

It’s all fun and no rush but I know I will still be tempted to do her Birthday at home next year with all the DIYs in place with Mahi getting excited about all the craft she gets to do preparing for her birthday.
We changed Mahi into her Moana Costume just before the Cake cutting and she completely owned the character.  My little Sassy girly girl.

Kids had so much fun and we got to meet Mahi’s best friend’s parents.

Four hours later we had a bunch of exhausted kids and we decided to call it a day but I guess the Birthday girl had stored the last stretch of her energy to open up all her presents and got on to them as soon as we reached home.
