Anna Prashan Ceremony (Celebrating the taste of her first food )

We celebrated Mahi's first taste of solids this month. It's a part of the Indian ritual therefore we called the priest and had a small ceremony at home. Though I would be strictly nursing her for six months we wanted to have it done while the grandparents were still here.

Mahi was dressed in an Indian Attire.
Wardrobe Courtesy-Aunt Nivedita :) She also got her these adorable tiny bangles and a Gold ring. It was good fun dressing her up.

And here she goes tasting her first solid food, which was a home cooked Indian Sweet called Kheer. My baby is definitely born with a silver spoon in her mouth and hats off to her Dadi who specially called for the silver bowl and spoon all the way from India for this occasion. We definitely missed grandma and pa a lot :(

Getting Blessings from the priest

Lucky little princess!! Blessings from the grandparents:)

Some more pictures from that evening.

So glad that we could get this ritual done in the best way possible being in Sydney. The priest we had called was the same who performed her name keeping ritual and is simply amazing .We were kidding about how awesome would it be if he performed the rituals at Mahi's Wedding as well.
Thoughts are Nomadic!! Who really wants to think about Mahi's wedding and get all upset!!:(
