Home Coming

The last PUSH!! and then came the moment of truth. I saw my child for the first time. She was so tiny and amazingly was looking right into my eyes. We read  and hear about it a lot but this moment  actually makes you forget not just the pain you had recently gone through but all your worries in life.

Her fragile body, tender skin and the tiny fingers. I just did not seem to get enough of her. I looked at kalyan and found him wiping off his tears. This was probably the first time I saw him crying. I felt so blessed and thanked God for my beautiful little family. We spent a couple of minutes as a family when the midwife took her away to get her dressed and take her measurements.

Her statistics at birth were as following :-

Weight :- 2.68 kg
Height  :- 49cms

That's me right after the delivery!

She made lovely eye contacts with her dad from day one and its still the same case.

My parents arrived within 10 min of her birth. Nanya happy :)

Happy Nanupa!

She was then wrapped nicely and put in a cradle next to me. My entire right side went numb  because I just couldn't take my eyes off her. My little Marshmallow! xoxox

We were to stay at the hospital for two days and on the third day we were super excited to go home when we learnt that she had jaundice. My poor baby!! she was made to sleep on the Billi blanket and under the UV light for that entire night and the whole of next day.

They took her to the intensive care unit and it wasn't a good sight. I knew jaundice is common and she would recover but to see her like this along with so many other critical cases made me so nervous.  How I wish no kid,to ever have to suffer.

Thankfully! she recovered in two days and we were given the green signal to go home. The last time I felt like this was when I was 12 years old, lived in a hostel and was to leave for home.

I could hardly wait for both of us to be home. But I must say that having my baby born in the Royal North Shore hospital was a delight. With such amazing midwives and the team of doctors around I felt like I am in safe hands :) Hope to see them in another two years!! wink wink!!

My baby all set to leave for home and to take her first 15 min road trip!!

We came home to a grand Welcome! thanks to the grandparents and dadda. We got to know later that dadda had sanitized every corner of the house before she came. What a hard working and lovely dad.
The grandparents were soo soo excited and were checking for the car to arrive every 5min. We came home to Mahi's team and this is what we saw....

And the lovely decorations were so thoughtful....

My baby slept through almost the entire time but she will grow to see all this and enjoy it for for sure one day.

My little angel had a sweet Home coming. Thanks! to the lovely family.
It was then time for the tiny tott to sleep through the night (which didn't happen as expected. lol!
Well that's a story for some other times.)
All I knew was that everything began to seem more meaningful than before.

FEEL BLESSED !!
