All about the week!!
12:18 AM
From experiencing the summers in India we came right back to the coldest month in here... the week we reached was the last running of the winter festival. By now kalyan and I have become experts in unpacking and make sure to get it done as soon as we reach home, so that made the house up and running from the very next day and we had our weekend free to go and enjoy the chill of the winters:)
What can be better after a cold play in the snow than a hot bowl of pasta @ Jamie Oliver's
Mahi and Mommy had their orientation week ( two days) at the new playschool that Mahi was about to join .. and the two days that mommy was around she seems just fine...
Mahi speaks too well( much) for her age and as she generally had a lot of adults around her to talk, reply and teach her the right words all this time it was a little difficult for her to converse with the 2- 3 year olds as the kids would not reply back when she asked their names or their age ... and then during lunch when she was asking " Is it yummy? Do you like it?" .. this left her quite dissapointed and she asked me why is no one talking and telling me their name.
Exploring the outdoors!!
Story times with Mickey before Lunch is served..
The little potty and wash basins reminded me of the seven little dwarf tale... everything has been customized as per their size and it was adorable...
At home mommy has to come up with interesting ways to feed this little chipmunk and there she went gobble gobble all by herself and also requested the educator for some more ( totally impressed me)
When all kids lied down she did too but couldn't get her to sleep all by herself..
This we did two days and she starts to spend two days all by herself from the next week...
We also went to see the 50th birthday celebration of Playschool.. a TV show that many generations have grown watching and so is my little one... she is very fond of the show and the best part for which I encourage her to see is that there is lot of learning and interaction.
Which window will it be today??
Meeeting Big Ted, Small Ted, Jamaima and Humpty !! What a day :)
All the actual props used in the playschool episodes..
We made our own birthday hat and wrote our best wishes to play school and hung on the message wall...
Watching the first episode of playschool telecasted in 1966...
We had a nice and productive week and waiting for spring to come soon.... our outdoor activities have been quite restricted due to the chill in the air..

India Diary!!
7:59 PM
We reached home to a Welcome soo sweet from the super creative aunt Neelima... what i was mostly looking forward to in this trip was a bond between mahi and her two brothers, aunt neelu and fufu because we never get to spend much time with them .. otherwise,we are lucky to be able to meet the rest of the family at least twice or thrice a year...
And all the presents she got from her brothers!!
I guess we started for India being too positive and all the travel plans that we made... sadly we could not do anything as planned for all the stomach bugs and food poisonings.. mahi just stopped eating and once that's the scenario me and kalyan simply lose all enthusiasm. We preferred staying indoors as much as possible and the kids had such good fun playing together... not to miss our dumb charades evening sessions which were just soo much fun...
We had the pooja performed which is done every once in a year for the peace, health and prosperity of the family.. Mahi participated quite actively this time and for her age it was really good for her to sit in for almost half an hour performing rituals and sitting with hands folded in devotion.
We went to see where daddy and all his siblings went to school and missed Aunt Nivi so much :(
On this trip to Kalyan's hometown a lot of names that i have been hearing from years got faces.. Munira di was one of them.. a very special person to our family and an absolute beautiful person both inside out.
It was so nice to see all three ex students get so excited while they told their stories.... Even the trees had tales to them...
Had a little play time with the kids ... apparently it's become an all girl school now but back in those days it was co education until class seven after which dad went to all boys school ( that's when they say your daddy turned into a brat )
And these kids never grew up!!
Mahi was so excited going to the classrooms and it worked well because she was to start playschool as soon as we reached back home..
We also did a little Ramzaan special dress up .... All thanks to Munira di. She dressed us all in her beautiful Burkhas gave us these very special moments..
For one day when we all felt a little better we decided to go to a place nearby which has a mini version of Hampi( a very famous temple) replicated. As we were not going to see the original one we decided to at least have a go on this one.
The only photo I could get of the grandparents with all their grand kids!!
We all spent almost one full day there playing and exploring around and on our way back mahi again had fever :(
A few of her solos... sulking solos :)
Mahi and the boys spent some real quality time together and that served almost the whole purpose of this trip...
Sweet aunt Neelima and mahi's candid moments :)
Our super hero!!
Had a great time meeting Ajit , Teju and their beautiful boy krish ... We stayed up until morning partying and starting from where we left in 2012 when we met last. It was a great evening and the fond memories of which shall last until we meet again!!
The last days were spent with this adorable family and I run short of words to describe what incredible hosts they are... and what a great cook this lady in red is :) We might have had a very challenging trip in terms of mahi's wellness but spending the last few days here made everything seem alright...Aunt Nivi ordered a farewell cake for us sitting in Australia :) so we blew the candles on that one ...
Mahi had some nice playtimes in the shopping mall :)
and just like that three weeks of India came to an end and it was already time to go back ...
Missy's passport obsession didn't seem to have reduced a bit and here she goes again!!
Mahi loved all the auto rides she took in Bangalore and every time we would go out she would start screaming " AUTO AUTO AUTO " also managed to stop one once. We were so occupied in shopping all the time that could never get a decent photo of her in it, so for all those time sakes we had to get a picture of us in it when we saw this fully decked up beauty...
Cheers! to all the good times and to the times which got on to the last nerve in our system , our love for you will never ever fade... will see you soon INDIA :)
