Mahi's monthly summary (May)
12:55 AM
Naughty is just an understatement for you these days.... I can't believe you are the same person you were just a couple of months ago..
PERSONALITY:- Looking at the way you talk my little chatter box I can see a bright future for you in Journalism and trust me you will make it big there. You are still very friendly but the "It's MINE" syndrome has just recently struck you and now you have a little bit of a mean strike to your overall friendly personality. The thing I love about you is the way you take instructions, no seriously, I could tell you to go to the dresser, open the last drawer and get the red pen and you will very well do it. You also help around a little but again it's only when you wish to.. You open your shoes as soon as we come home and put them out in the shoe rack and the socks go in for washing ( how old are you seriously?).
The dark sides are too dark these days... I love you and you should know that before I say that when you get your tantrum fit mommy wants to run soo fast and not even look back, of course it just happens in the mind. Your time out sessions have increased in number and minutes because you get so adamant and keep saying " I will lick the slippers" or " I will break the glass" or " I will hit mommy with the phone" ... Yes this innocent face doesn't seem to be doing all that and how I hate to give you time outs but I rather have well mannered girl than a brat even if that means being the strict parent.
Weekends are the only times you get to take a peek at the I pad or phone because all through the week mommy would never let you be near it... Daddy's heart melts faster with your pleases and cute faces that you make when you want something....
We are making new friends in this new place and so glad to have found Rachana and her adorable daughters.... We had our first meeting on one of her daughters birthdays and so looking forward to all the times we will all spend together..
The Gorgeous birthday girl... and Mahi's first birthday party that she attended in Canberra!!
Every time we head to the fresh vegetable markets we let Mahi play in this play area built under a huge mushroom... she enjoys it soo much that we need at least twenty minutes of convincing to get her out of there.
Things that I want to remember about you:-
1. You cry when you get time outs but still you don't budge from your point of view and that makes me cry and laugh at the same time.
2. You always roll towards daddy's side on the bed while sleeping and then say " Come mommy" and then role towards me and say " Come daddy" this goes on for good half an hour before you sleep and we put you in the cot....
3. You say family hug before sleeping still and I find it just sooo adorable..
4. You remember your nanu sooo much and almost everyday talk about him... the other day we were walking and you go "My nanu told me to walk on the footpath mommy, not on the road" " My nanu played football with me" " Eemember, Nanu gave lolly pop to mahi" " I love nanu the most in the world"
5. Everyday you wake up you ask " Where are we going today mommy and daddy"
6. Every time daddy goes to work you say" I am sad about my daddy, I miss him"
7. You love watching your photos and videos and say " Please show me my pictures mommy".
8. You open the book at night and just don't let us read it to you, instead you read and this is how it goes" Once upon a time there was a baby, five little ducks went but only one came back, then they lived happily after, then, the boy ate his food and mommy said yeah, then the duck and chicken met and did puck puck puck ... THE .....END"
9. If something goes wrong she calls out" Mommy rescue me, please save the day"
10. If I ever get hurt, she goes" Don't worry mama, I am here"
Your favorites
1. Your fave TV shows are .... Super Why, Caillou, Masha tales and the ever fave Peppa pig and Daniel tiger.
2. Play dough, Slime , Water, Sand and paints keep you busy the most.
3. I am little tea pot is your fave rhyme.
4. Her new lambi is her fave toy.

Mahi's big girl room!!
6:27 PM
With three months left to hit the big THREE this transition seemed important and hence my little girl gets a transformed bedroom... I happen to clean it yesterday and she goes" Mommy I love my bedroom" ... I pardoned her to repeat at least twice to really make sure I hear the correct words.. How incredible is it to be appreciated by your lill one ... This room is one of the best lit rooms and we enjoy our day naps and the afternoon sun, reading and playing dress ups...
I found these super cute heart wall stickers from Adairs and to my luck a lot of stuff was running in the end of season sale.. So we saved a little and splurged a little but finally got this dreamy fairy bedroom and now I got the approval stamp by the resident as well!!
She runs around the room wearing her fairy wings saying.... " Flitter flutter flitter flutter " that is suppose to be the sound of her wings...
With her having a separate play room we have kept this only for book reading and dress ups ... saves mommy from cleaning ( though messing comes just so naturally to a toddler)
The big problems of the little minds .... I have funny stories about why missy throws tantrums these days .. in the below picture the huge cry was because she could not catch her shadow. Trust me! in a two year old's world its a problem bigger than global warming..
I made her sit in one place and told her to keep hugging the shadow then it won't leave and just like that all troubles were behind us...
I'd say Mahi is pretty happy in her big girl room and we're excited for her to have a room that she will love for the years to come!! Enjoy :)

Play times just got better!!
11:35 PM
I grew up in a hill station and we saw temperatures fall every winter and enjoyed our snow season utterly. Before our big move Kalyan would always say that the winters are bad in Canberra and I would go "Relax baby I am a mountain girl I am pretty sure I will love the winters" only until I happen to live just the two months and it's not even the onset of the season yet.... The winds are absolutely crazy here... It would be nice and sunny and so tempting to put a chair outside and relax but the wind would creep inside your skin and freeze your bones...
Anyways!! having said that,we decided to setup something interesting indoors for the winter days... Trust me you need all this paraphernalia when you putting up with a toddler...unless you want to be switching the dishwasher button off for the 20th time..or if you want to watch all your folded laundry being unfolded, piece by piece on the floor ( It's a longer list than you can imagine). I am glad that daddy came on board with setting up this playroom and we are so enjoying it ( all three of us) .... Now someone has correctly said " My childhood may be over, but that doesn't mean playtime is" Ron Oslon.
The Barbeque is still her fave and while I am cooking in the kitchen she says " Mommy can I make you a chicken burger and broccoli" and when she is done making it she asks me " Four dollars please" but raises only two fingers ... marketing tactics :)
And the cooking is sassed up too much drama and entertainment!!
The Master chef is running on TV these days and we follow it sometimes , so when this girl is done cooking she sits with her pretend food and ketchup and goes" I am Master chef mommy" ( now that's daddy's Genes talking)
This lill unicorn was her parting gift from Adi and every time she takes a leap on it she goes"Emember (remember) when Adi gave this to Mahi"
I love watching them play while I cook dinner ...it's the best feeling ever!!
And look who visited us .... they had a great time playing but most of it was about educating Mahi..
Life is good and only getting better!! Signing off :)

Babymoon!!
10:38 PM
We left on Mother's day after a lovely brunch in Canberra and reached our friends place in Sydney that evening... the kids and the biggies had a great re union...Our friends Pavitra and Abhi are like the perfect hosts and the love they have for the food they cook is so admirable. The enthusiasm they have can be so contagious and of course the playtimes with Adi were so special for Mahi...
Movie time for the two....
and lots and lots of Play dough times :)
We checked in to our Serviced apartment the next day which would be home for the next fifteen days...
It was a beautiful apartment and just behind the Shopping centre, which gave mommy and Mahi enough motivation to get out our PJs and get shopping!!
Daddy and Mahi watching Masterchef!! and what luxury to have TV time in the bedroom...
The day would start with getting all showered up, followed by breakfast and a brief playtime before we hot the mall...
We explored this place that makes shakes/drinks and dress up in the most beautiful way.. Mahi loved every bit of her drink and why not.... it had everything her little mind ever desired...
Little model posing along with the other dummies in H&M store flaunting her dress that happened to be from the same store...
And this Peppa pig ride was just a hit with her and a ritual to visit every time we were there.
And her endless demand for two dollars to get the ride started!! The two tiny fingers always raised but mama stood firm even when she looked super cute making this fuss...
After a lot playtime and window shopping we got all settled until daddy joined us and we headed back for a home cooked dinner :)
It was then the day when Mahi's BFF was visiting her and though they could not greet each other as they were napping .. the smiles on their face was precious when they woke up to see each other... it just lead to a lot of cuddles and kisses...
These two had a ball and though we didn't have any costumes for them to play dress ups , these two suited themselves with whatever they could dig in the drawer... super adorable.. Mommies too had a nice chat and these two kept us quite entertained.
Peak a booo!!!
Other days when we were home we spent some nice time enjoying our snacks and a lot of meals in the balcony..
By now Mahi had gotten too used to going to mall because of all the fun games she could play there and the one special treat she got with every trip... The shopping mall is just too far away in Canberra so we made the best of this situation.
So I tell Mahi " We are not going out" and this one bursts into tears and then I say "okay! We are" and I can't believe how this one switches to all smiles ....
This to this in exact 2 seconds!!
Yes!! not even a day went by without this ride
Some randoms from all the other days.....
