Festivities!!
4:34 AM
October, November and December are very busy months for us. So many reasons to celebrate and we try to make the best of it. This year as mahi is a little grown up to have a sense of festivities around her , we made sure to give her a real feel of Indian festivals.
From my recent visit to India I got designed this mum and daughter ethnic dress and mahi loves it. More so she carries it like a pro ( has to be her Indian Genes).
I just love the camera, but only when I am behind it. I am a wuss when it comes to facing one. I would do almost everything to avoid the camera.
We stayed on the deck the whole time and missed almost all the Indian dances and music shows down their but it was just so refreshing to feel the breeze on your face and I wouldn't just care.
We danced till our feet bled( not literally) and were hungover that sucked up the entire next day (disclaimer- Warned mum much in advance)
On the actual Diwali day we got dressed, worshiped burnt some crackers and finally ate the most delicious, mommy made " Chole Bhature"...... We had this kind of fun on Diwali here after a long time and only because mum and dad were here to make it so much special by their presence.
Had a spectacular festive season and only until we get all soaked up in Christmas......
All I can say is " Thank you GOD for a wonderful life. I am so humbled by all that you have blessed me with. Please be near like you have always been and bless my family and friends with peace and prosperity...AMEN!!"

Daddy clicked all mommy and baby shots but the ones with all three of us in it were taken by niece, a nine year old sweet girl,Mishti. Who ever thought she would click like a pro....
Next came Diwali and we were absolutely looking forward to the Diwali festival held in Parramatta ,Sydney. We did not even dare to come last year with mahi almost one year old who had just found her balance on those two happy feet. She was absolutely a chicken being chased. This year was such a better choice with her being receptive of instructions and actually trying to make some sense out of all the activities going around.
The most important factor for the visit was having mom and dad around. Being kids we would go to see Dushehra and all sorts of such fests with them and it helped us live the same moments just in a new set up.
It was a huge gathering and stalls so nicely put up with all the tongue tingling and mouth watering food around. Whosoever has liking for Indian street food( Like me) would have had some genuine fun there.
Cultural performances kept running one after the other and the vibe synced in perfectly with the festive mood...
So what happened was that mahi saw this kid with a bubble gun and got so excited to see the bubbles that I decided to get her one. I had no clue what was to follow....... missy aimed like she was on a war front with a strain gun. Our diwali fest just immidiately turned into bubble fest and I swear she absolutely cracked me up with her expressions while shooting out her, forever precious bubbles.
Daddy's expressions are a proof of where she gets this streak of wildness from.
I just love the camera, but only when I am behind it. I am a wuss when it comes to facing one. I would do almost everything to avoid the camera.
And look at them ..... Always, always ,always posing with so much grace. They are the two most amazing beings in the world both inside out!!
No matter which angle I click them from... every angle seems to be the RIGHT!! angle
We then headed for some kids fun and mahi took such difficult rides all by herself for the very first time. I was terrified and proud at the same time but just wanting it to end soon. She was absolutely contained through all the rides.
BIG WINS by MAHI :)
Me and kalyan could go on this three hour Diwali cruise only and only because mom and dad were there for mahi. It had been almost two years that we ever went to a party and both could cut it lose. One of the parent always had to be in full control and more (not trying to be a nag or complaining but in most cases it was me). Every mother should be allowed to have a guilt free pass just once in a very very long while at least. So for this one I was absolutely pumped about the whole idea of dancing to Indian beats amidst Australian waters. Mahi has the most amazing set of nanya and nanu :) Thank you!!
