Easter fun Brisbane
8:29 AM
Like always our family get together has a scheduled series of events planned much in advance so that we don't just laze around in our PJs chatting and watching movies. This time with having parents around we wanted to do a couple of things that were put on hold for quite some time, like a family photo shoot and a religious ceremony.
Our niece had her Prom this year and we were instructed by her to be in Brisbane during that time around. She had picked a gorgeous black gown and I lack in words to describe how beautiful she looked.
On one of the days we went for a picnic in the New farm park and had an Easter egg hunt with mahi. She had fun picking up the eggs, putting in her basket and then tossing them over.

We managed to take a few shots before they left for the Big night.
These two looked super cute and while Sai was dressed to kill, Sam must have broken a few hearts that night for sure......the two were so ready to walk the red carpet.
The day after that we had our professional family shoot but I would like to keep an entire separate blog for that. Apparently there are so many pictures that it will surely cut down on the words in the post.
We then started preparing for the religious ceremony which was being conducted for the peace and prosperity of the family. A night before we made sure that everything was clean and shifted all living room furniture to the garage to make enough space .While we were at it we opened the garage door and enjoyed some cool breeze and let mahi entertain us with her Acapella moves(her new fave song)and the hilarious way she bows and greets kalyan's mom with a "Namaste"everytime she see her.
This girl is way too funny and once she knows its funny she hits the repeat button in her system and continues to do it.What's strange is that it gives us a good laugh every single time.
We all dressed in our traditional outfits the next morning and sat for the ceremony. Thankfully mahi was asleep and I could attend to the most important part uninterrupted where the priest narrates these very interesting stories with great lessons and moral values.
I really hope that we, as parents are able to inculcate some right values in you mahi.Showing you a path of righteousness and humanity. I hope we set good examples for you and help you be a good human being.
My little Indian princess!!
After a wonderful day spent close to spirituality and our culture we started planning for the next to do in the list which was, a day trip to Gold Coast!!
We had kalyan and bujji down with fever and we almost cancelled the trip, but after a good rest they both felt better on the day we had to leave and we all were on the wheels hitting the road in no time. It was just an hours drive so mahi did quite well too.
After a nice lunch we explored quite a bit and were ready to hit the beach but these two didn't feel too good so we dropped the idea. On top of that our lill missy was due her nap time and had cranky pants on.
We decided to just check on this fun photo studio which does different themes and we had wanted to get a family Victorian theme ever since we saw one of my friends pictures. Luckily there wasn't much waiting and they got us all dressed.... We had such a lovely time going back in time and getting to feel that era......

Before we even knew Easter break was over and it was time to go back home!!
By the way Mahi, you did so well on the flight this time and dozed off both the times after a few minutes of take off. Keeping my fingers crossed for the upcoming BIG one!!

One and half year birthday!!
9:12 AM
We decided to celebrate mahi's one and a half year birthday outdoors and went on a family picnic to this beautiful New farm park in Brisbane.
With her new found love for this pig called "Peppa Pig"(some cartoon character on the TV) aunt Shubha had to get her a Peppa pig cake and so she did.
While Uncle Ram went specially to fetch special 1 & 8 numbered candles for her 18th month ( God!! the amount of thought involved). I will continue to pen down all these small little details until you are big enough to observe and be thankful for.
Your excitement had no bounds when you saw your fave "PAAAPI" (yeah that's what you call it) Also, by now you have witnessed so many birthdays that you are pretty much aware what to sing when you have candles on a cake and you went on and on singing " Haaappppy" " Happpy" ( that's exactly what you are saying in the below picture).
After blowing the candles and having a taste of your cake you ran a marathon and while you had so many people running behind you I managed to get some pretty awesome shots.
I had a picture sitting on the tree when I was little and I was trying to replicate it. Now will have to dig into all the old photos when I go home to find the one.Hoping it to still be there though.
Finally somebody got tired and we all got a breather.
Sad that mahi's aunt Mimi and Uncle Jaiku (that's what she calls them) couldn't join us because they had to go to work but guess what do they get her in the evening, a peppa pig mealtime set.
Sad that I was in the washroom when they left this for her and couldn't catch the moment but seriously Mahi's day was completely made while she got to eat her peppa pig cake in her peppa bowl with the peppa spoon...... what more could she have wished for. You are being raised with a lot of love around. So grateful to God!!
